Epiroc, Volvo Make an Ideal Combination for Austrian Contractor

Published: 16/6, 2023

Austrian construction company Magyer Betriebs GmbH has invested heavily in large demolition machines, including adding nearly three-dozen new Volvo carriers to its fleet. The expansion also included two largest Epiroc attachments ever delivered to Austria—an HB 7000 hydraulic breaker and a CC 7000 demolition cutter.

With an operating weight of 7t each, the two heavyweights for demolition and rock excavation are top performers on any large construction site. The HB 7000 is designed for 70- to 120t carriers, while the CC 7000 fits 58- to 85t carriers.

Among Magyer Betriebs’ other investments is the new EC 750E High Reach demolition excavator from Volvo. With this machine, equipped with a multi grapple from Epiroc, it was possible to demolish a 118-ft (36m) high chimney within 30 minutes at a 775,000-ft2 (72,000m2) construction site in southern Vienna. The new excavator has also been fitted with an Epiroc CB 2500 concrete crushers and an MG 2700 multi grapple. “That’s the start of something big, because the chimney demolition is just the beginning and many other large demolition projects will follow,” explains Marcel Magyer, managing director of Magyer Betriebs GmbH.
